Our first week was a busy one. We spent the first four days off camping at French Beach. That place has everything: sun, surf, beach, forest... what more could you ask for? Well... I would have liked a shower or a flush toilet... but it was lovely all the same. We spent most of our time there on the beach enjoying the feeling of being near the sea. We really felt ourselves relaxing and enjoying our time off.
On the fourth day we came home basically to do laundry...and take a lovely hot shower. Then we were off again...
Friday we headed up to Nanaimo for a young adults retreat at Spruston Road Bible Camp. It was a blast hanging out with old friends and getting to know some knew ones too. We spent most of our time swimming in the Nanaimo river (beautiful... kinda like the potholes) and laughing till our sides hurt with friends. We also had some time to reconnect with God and be rejuvenated in spirit.
We came home after the long weekend only to rush to a family dinner with all the kids in the family,(Dan's parents were away on a motorcycle trip). It was made more special because Alana and her husband bran were there.
Our last week was spent in Victoria for the most part. Hanging out with family and vegging out just the two of us. It was a very nice time off.
